Short answer: the Mom’s Tallow Skin Scan is a free, ten-second tool on our website. Look into your phone or laptop camera, and it reads how your skin looks in your current light (radiance, evenness, shine and calm) across your forehead, cheeks and T-zone. Then it recommends the tallow formula that best suits you, with a pairing to complete your routine. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.
We built it because the question we hear most is simple: which cream should I start with? We make several tallow face creams, and they feel very different on the skin. The Skin Scan takes the guesswork out of choosing.
How the Skin Scan works
- Open the scan. Go to the Skin Scan page and tap Begin the scan. Enter your email so we can send your results.
- Center your face. Allow camera access and line your face up inside the gold arch. Soft window light gives the clearest read.
- Hold still for a few seconds. When the outline turns solid gold, the scan reads four areas of your face and fills a gold progress ring.
- See your results. You’ll get four readings, a one-line summary of how your skin looks today, and the formula we recommend, which you can add to your bag right there.
Prefer not to use your camera? You can upload a selfie instead, or simply choose how your skin usually feels in one tap.
What the four readings mean
Radiance
How bright and luminous your cheeks look in the light you’re in. Lower radiance usually means skin could use a richer, more cushiony moisturizer for a dewy look.
Evenness
How uniform your skin texture looks across the cheeks. If texture reads a touch uneven, a cream with peptides and bakuchiol can help skin look smoother and more refined.
Shine
How much natural glow shows through the forehead and T-zone. A little shine is normal. If it reads high, a light, fast-absorbing cream keeps things balanced.
Calm
How even your skin tone looks, without visible flushing. If your skin looks a little flushed, a short, fragrance-free formula is the gentlest place to start.

The Skin Scan is a cosmetic guide, not a medical or diagnostic tool. It reads how your skin looks in the light you’re in, so a dim room or harsh overhead light will change the result.
